Let's Talk Behavior! Come and spend time reviewing the functions of behavior, learned helplessness, and how these behaviors can interfere with a student's success with Assistive Technology tools. This session will provide an overview of functions of behavior and participants will be part of a discussion on why students may abandon Assistive Technology tools and/or devices. Following these discussions, participants will observe a wide variety of tools that can be used in a Universal Design for Learning approach for all students, that will have the added benefit of making these tools stand out less for the students who need them as Assistive Technology. Participants will be encouraged to try out extensions, iOS apps and settings and more as they follow along with the demonstration of these tools throughout the session.
